Austin McGougan

Hometown: Austin, TX

Austin McGougan is a physical therapist who brings a personal understanding of the recovery process to his practice. A native of Austin, Texas, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

Austin’s path to physical therapy was shaped by his own experiences as a competitive track and cross-country runner throughout high school and college. Facing various injuries, he developed a deep interest in the rehabilitation process and learned the importance of maintaining a healthy body for peak performance. This firsthand experience fuels his passion for helping others, and he appreciates the active, hands-on nature of his profession.

Like others on our team, Austin’s connection to Casper began during his education. He completed one of his clinical rotations here at Wind City and was immediately drawn to the clinic’s environment. The mountains and the quieter, slower-paced lifestyle of Wyoming ultimately convinced him to make the move after graduation.

Outside of the clinic, Austin enjoys a variety of activities, including lifting weights, running, hiking, and cooking. He’s also an avid coffee drinker. While his mom, dad, and older sister still live in Texas, he is excited to build his life and career here in Casper.

Austin is driven by a powerful quote from Jerry Rice that reflects his commitment to his patients and his profession: “Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.”
